Forget the criticism that rap star Future has said about Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. It's Mike Holmgren's comments that may need addressing.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer is reporting that Holmgren, the former Seahawks head coach and general manager is calling out Wilson for not signing a four-year, $80 million deal reportedly offered by the club, in comments he made during a radio interview on 950 KJR radio's "Mitch in the Morning" show.

Russell Wilson still not an elite QB in the eyes of the NFL, per report

According to the Post-Intelligencer, Wilson and his agent, Mark Rodgers, are seeking a deal worth more than the five-year, $110 million contract quarterback Aaron Wilson has with the Green Bay Packers.

According to the report, Holmgren noted the disparity between the two sides, but said that simple math should kick in if Wilson plays this season for his reported $1.52 million contract. A new deal, Holmgren said, would add a handsome signing bonus to Wilson's present salary, along with move him close to another mega-deal sooner.

"This is not his last contract; he's going to sign another one in four years," Holmgren told radio host Mitch Levy. "So I think it's a huge mistake. I just don't understand it. ... If he plays this season for a million and a half, then I think it's a huge mistake, I really do."

Holmgren, who won 161 games in 17 years as a head coach (seven in Green Bay, including a Super Bowl championship after the 1996 season, and 10 in Seattle), added that he didn't believe the Seahawks were disrespecting the quarterback with their offer.

"I think it's very fair, very fair," Holmgren said. "The Seahawks are not low-balling him. In (Wilson and Rodgers') mind(s), apparently, they think they are. ... He's earned the right to be up there being well paid, there's no question about that, but usually salaries are based on what other guys get paid, what's the market, what's going on. So no, the Seahawks have not low-balled, as far as I understand."

The Seahawks quarterback received criticism of another sort earlier in the week over his relationship with girlfriend Ciara. The singer's ex-boyfriend, rapper Future, who has a son with Ciara. Future criticized the couple for allowing Wilson to enter into Future Zahir Wiburn's life so soon into his relationship with Ciara.
