Liverpool finally acquired Christian Benteke from Aston Villa after agreeing to a £32.5 million transfer fee. A proven goal scorer—49 goals in 101 games—Benteke revealed his expectations to the press on Wednesday.

"I'm very happy to be here," Benteke said (via BBC). " I came here to win trophies. I came here to reach some great goals with the team. It was the right club for me because I had a good chat with the manager and I wanted to be part of his project."

On Thursday, the club upped the ante after revealing its intention to make another shock move in the transfer market.

Below are all the latest transfer rumors surrounding the Reds.

Marco Reus

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri (via Metro), Liverpool have contacted Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus. Per the report, no official bid has been made, as Liverpool would have to pay £47.8 million to acquire his services.

Real Madrid—also believed to be interested in the German international—remains the 26-year-old's first choice.

Christian Benteke

Not everyone is excited to see Benteke at Anfield. In an interview with talkSPORT (via ESPN FC), the club's former director of football Damien Comolli was critical of Brendan Rodgers' summer of spending.

"When you gamble as much money as they did last summer, you have got to give players a chance, and changing everything again sends the message to the players brought in last summer that they will not get a chance," Comolli said. "By the time everyone settles into the team and the players coming from abroad get used to the Premier League, they might be well behind fourth place."

Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert

According to Liverpool Echo, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert will be two of those players that will not get a chance at Anfield.

Per the report, both players have been told to find new homes. Borini's agent has confirmed he's held talks with Fiorentina. Lambert has attracted interest from West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City.
