If Kobe Bryant is happy with the talent his team has added for what he has said will be his farewell season, he isn't saying - at least to the free agents that have joined the Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin posted a video on Instagram of the trio of Lakers free agents - Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, Atlanta Hawks Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams and Boston Celtics power forward Brandon Bass - in which they were asked whether the Black Mamba had reached out to them since they joined the team and what he told them.

The scene went dead, like Daffy Duck trying to steal the spotlight on stage from Bugs Bunny with his rapid dance routine, only to hear the sound of crickets.

 Awkward.

"Bryant may just be busy this summer watching FC Barcelona so he hasn't rolled out the purple and gold carpet to welcome the new Lakers just yet," CBS Sports reported. "But wouldn't you expect him to at least send a Black Mamba-type text to Hibbert, Williams and Bass?

"However, their silence and facial expressions are telling of how excited they are to play with Bryant. The lackluster feeling between Bryant and the new Lakers is apparently mutual."

Bleacher Report, however, suggested that it was up to the new players to reach out to Bryant.

"Maybe you have to call Kobe. He's not exactly plugged in, and there's a distinct possibility he doesn't know who Lou Williams or Brandon Bass is.

"Take a note from Larry Nance Jr., guys. Make the first move. Kobe isn't about to go out of his way to learn the name of every guy the Lakers wedge into their starting five, and he'll appreciate the effort."
