New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick had nothing nice to say specifically about quarterback Tim Tebow on Tuesday. Belichick didn't have anything bad to say either.
In fact, Belichick was his usual "reveal little to the media" self when asked about Tebow's chances of making the Patriots final roster.
"That's not anything that we're ready to talk about right now," CBS Boston quoted Belichick as saying. "Lot of competition out there, we'll see how it all plays out."
Tebow had less than a stellar performance during the Patriots' 31-22 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
The high-profile, third-string quarterback was 4-of-12 passing for 55 yards in the exhibition. He also was sacked three times for minus-23 yards.
"Some things were good, some things you got to work on," Tebow said, according to USA Today.
Of course, reporters tried to get more out of Belichick than that concerning Tebow. And of course, he responded without responding.
When asked whether he thought Tebow had improved, Belichick responded:
"I'd say every player that's been out there on a consistent basis has improved, and that includes everybody. That's what training camp is for," Belichick said. "I would say that about every player that's had a chance to get out there and participate on a regular basis, that they've all improved a great deal. Certainly some are at different stages of their career, and the improvement may be at different rates at different times, but I think as a team we've definitely come a long way from where we were at the beginning of training camp at the end of July."
NESN.com argued that Tebow has improved at quarterback since the beginning of training camp and believes Belichick is considering keeping Tebow, despite Belichick's non-committal comments.
