The third major of the 2015 calendar year is finally upon us. The 2015 British Open being held at the Old Course at St. Andrews is receiving premier coverage from ESPN. A free live stream scheduled for 4 a.m. ET can be found here. Additional TV coverage can be found on ESPN.
Tiger Woods
It's been seven years since Tiger Woods last captured a major championship. His inability to perform on the biggest stage, coupled with porous form, has prompted many to question his playing future.
"Retirement? I don't have any AARP card yet, so I'm a ways from that," Woods said (via USA Today). "I'm still young. I'm not 40 yet. I know some of you guys think I'm buried and done, but I'm still right here in front of you."
Jordan Spieth
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Jordan Spieth enters the British Open looking to become the first golfer since Ben Hogan in 1953 to win the Masters, U.S. Open and British Open in a calendar year.
"I like to study the history of golf, and I think it's extremely special what this year has brought to our team," Spieth said (via Dallas News). "And to have a chance to do what only one other person in the history of golf has done doesn't come around very often. I'm sure embracing that opportunity, but by the time I start on Thursday, it won't be in my head."
