With support like this, Tom Brady may want to consider a plea agreement with the NFL.

Boston.com reported on a small snippet about the New England Patriots quarterback that was lost amid the infamous comments included in the Donald Trump speech that exposed his views on Mexican immigrants.

Country club considers blackballing Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen over Deflategate coverage

Trump went into a diatribe about China's economic leaders being smarter than U.S. economic leaders and then used Brady to accent the difference between the two.

"People say, 'Oh, you don't like China.' No, I love them," Trump said during his speech, as reported by Boston.com. "But their leaders are much smarter than our leaders, and we can't sustain ourself with that. There's too much-it's like-it's like, take the New England Patriots and Tom Brady and have them play your high school football team. That's the difference between China's leaders and our leaders."

Would Tom Brady consider a defamation lawsuit against the NFL if his four-game suspension is rescinded?

Brady - and the Patriots for that matter - might've appreciated the Donald's support if he only would have omitted much of the rest of his speech.

But as Brady awaits a decision from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on his appeal of his four-game suspension for his involvement in Deflategate, he probably would rather Trump not use his name for any reason.

If Brady's punishment is not rescinded, speculation is rampant that he will sue the NFL over his punishment.

WCVB sports anchor Bob Halloran commented that Brady cannot win any lawsuit based on the science of the Deflategate evidence, arguing that if Goodell used a flawed Wells report as the basis for overturning Brady's punishment, then he would also have to rescind the $1 million fine and loss of two draft choices against the Patriots, which Halloran believe Goodell would not do.

So even if Brady were to win in court, it would not mean a cleansing of his tarnished legacy - that now includes support from a tarnished presidential candidate in Trump.
