Aaron Hernandez was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole earlier this summer in the case of the shooting death of former Hernandez associate Odin Lloyd. One of Hernandez's lawyers, James Sultan, said in redacted court documents that he was tipped off about one of the Hernandez jurors being "untruthful" during jury selection.

According to Sultan, the anonymous tipster wouldn't give her last name and called multiple times from blocked phone numbers. The tipster told Sultan that she recognized this juror on television as having been present for a discussion of another case involving Hernandez, a double-murder in Boston in 2012, that was barred from the Lloyd trial.

She also said that she knew the juror in question sought to be on the panel. "She told me she does not want [redacted] into trouble, but it is on her conscience that she knows some information which may be important," Sultan wrote.

Sultan said that if the juror admitted knowledge of the 2012 double-murder he would have asked that she be removed from the panel. Another juror was actually removed from the case for discussing it, as well as showing a desire to be on the jury.

Hernandez is spending life in prison already, but he has other legal matters pending. First is the 2012 double-homicide in which he stands accused of gunning down Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu in a drive-by following an altercation in a nightclub over a spilled drink.

Hernandez is also facing legal action for shooting a former friend named Alexander Bradley between the eyes and leaving him for dead after an argument. Some believe the argument stemmed from Bradley's knowledge of the double homicide.
