Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Responds To Greg Jennings' Barbs, Doesn't Take Bait, Jordy Nelson Weighs In

Aaron Rodgers has responded to the recent criticisms he received from former teammate and new division rival Greg Jennings, shaking off the comments from his former wide receiver.

"I've seen a lot and been around a lot and learned a lot of lessons," the Packers quarterback said per NFL.com. "One of the lessons you learn, you can't control everything and you shouldn't worry too much about the things that are said outside the building. You're worried about the opinions of your teammates and how they feel about you."

Jennings, who had a lot of success with Rodgers and signed a new deal to play with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, has had plenty to say the past couple of days regarding his former quarterback. Rodgers has seemed to be taking it in stride and is trying to move on.

"A lot of times when you have a guy who creates that spotlight for himself and establishes that and takes a lot of that, it becomes so-and-so and the team," Jennings said of Rodgers on Thursday, according to The Star Tribune. "It should always be the team."

Jennings went on, oddly addressing the quarterback by number, not by name: "Don't get me wrong, '12' is a great person," Jennings told the Tribune. "But when you hear all positives, all positives, all positives all the time, it's hard for you to sit down when one of your teammates says, 'Man, come on, you've got to hold yourself accountable for this.' It's hard for someone to see that now because all they've heard is I'm doing it the right way, I'm perfect. In actuality, we all have flaws."

Jennings had 36 receptions for 366 yards playing with Rodgers in 2012, and scored four touchdowns in eight games.

While Rodgers has taken it all in stride, Jordy Nelson has publicly come to the defense of his signal caller.

"Aaron has dealt with a lot since he became the quarterback here," Nelson said according to NFL.com. "I'm sure he was looking for an offseason without controversy, and unfortunately he didn't get one.

"Nelson added: "I think it's unfortunate and we're ready to move on."

Rodgers completed 371 out of 552 passes last season and threw for 4,295 yards with 39 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His 7.1 touchdown percentage was the second-highest in his career and he brought the Packers within one win away from an appearance in the NFC Championship game.

However, even after a productive season with a lot of positives, Jennings still found something negative to say.
