Everett Golson, a recent graduate of Notre Dame, is looking to play his final collegiate season elsewhere. While Golson has visited a slew of SEC schools, his likely landing spot is Notre Dame, where he'll be tasked with filling the shoes of former Heisman winner and National champion Jameis Winston.

"You have to be upfront with everybody," FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said last week of hoping to land Golson. "We're going to do what gives us the best chance to be successful."

Golson has visited several schools, with SEC powerhouses Alabama, Florida and Georgia in the mix. All have uncertain quarterback situations, but they all require Golson to receive a waiver from SEC president Mike Sliver, who is unlikely to grant it.

According to an ESPN report Golson doesn't meet the requirements to receive such a waiver. "The student-athlete has not been subject to official university or athletics department disciplinary action at any time during enrollment at any previous collegiate institution (excluding limited discipline applied by a sports team)."

A source told ESPN that Golson getting an exception is unlikely. "A waiver is possible, but not easily granted," a source told ESPN.

The ACC requires no such waiver, and the Seminoles are in need of a quarterback. Last season Golson frustrated the Fighting Irish coaching staff with foolish turnovers, but his overall output was impressive. Golson threw for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. He contributed to Notre Dame's rushing attack as well, compiling 283 yards and eight touchdowns.
