Jim Harbaugh's latest coaching hire at Michigan is sure to raise some eyebrows.

NFL.com is reporting that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has agreed to serve as a counselor for Harbaugh's "Ann Arbor Aerial Assault" - a one-day quarterback camp at the University of Michigan for football players who will be in high school in 2015.

It's the latest salvo Harbaugh has fired at Ohio State coach Urban Meyer in leveling the war in recruiting. Along with Kaepernick, Harbaugh has rustled up Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, 2013 Heisman Trophy winner and Tampa Bay Buccaneers No. 1 overall draft pick Jameis Winston and former Michigan signal callers Elvis Grbac and Denard Robinson.

The curious part of Harbaugh's All-Star staff is the fact Kaepernick, Cutler and Winston did not attend Michigan and have no connection to the Wolverines. Kaepernick is a University of Nevada alum, Cutler attended Vanderbilt and Winston, of course, went to Florida State.

Harbaugh is responsible for Kaepernick becoming a starter in the NFL when he inserted him as the 49ers starter for an injured Alex Smith during the 2012 season, and Kaepernick led the Niners to the Super Bowl XLVII where they suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Harbaugh and Kaepernick went to the NFC championship game together in 2013. Rumors of Harbaugh's exit from San Francisco began before the 2014 season when speculation surfaced that the 49ers explored trading Harbaugh to the Cleveland Browns for draft picks.

Kaepernick had the worst year, in terms of quarterback rating, during his three seasons as the 49ers starter. During each of their struggles in 2014, Harbaugh and Kaepernick both remained staunch supporters of each other.

NFL.com reported that Harbaugh spent time with Winston during his draft preparation in the offseason, but the origin of Harbaugh's relationship with Cutler is not immediately recognizable.

But with Harbaugh's ability to lure NFL talent to his camps and use in recruiting, he could be the coach Michigan needs to combat the juggernaut that Meyer is making of Ohio State.
