Hugh Jackman is jacked.

It shouldn’t be of any surprise to any movie fans that have seen him play Wolverine in the X-Men series, but it’s still impressive to see a man who’s nearly 50 looking this fit and impressive in the weight room. This dude eats barbells and deadlifts for breakfast.

It’s unclear whether the Aussie actor is training for a new movie role, or whether this is purely an attempt to stay healthy and shredded in his personal life, but boy are we impressive.

In the video, posted to Jackman’s official Instagram account, the 46-year-old Academy Award nominee can be seen deadlifting 410 pounds. That accomplishment places Jackman in the rarefied tier known colloquially as “the 1,000 Pound Club”—that is, the (limited) group of people who can lift a half ton or more between squatting, bench pressing, and deadlifting.

Memorial Day weekend (and the beach season that follows) is in less than two weeks people. How about we all use Jackman’s video as an incentive to renew those gym memberships on our own ends.
