Tom Brady on Aaron Hernandez: New England Patriots Quarterback Makes First Comments Since Arrest, Says He's Moving On

Tom Brady finally broke his silence Tuesday, speaking for the first time about Aaron Hernandez's connection to the murder of Odin Lloyd, according to reports

"I've seen a lot of things over 13 years, and what I have learned is that mental toughness and putting aside personal agendas for what's in the best interest of the team matters most," Brady told the "MMQB" website, according to ESPN.

Brady was described as "understated" on Tuesday when discussing the actions of his teammate for the first time.

"My job is to play quarterback, and I'm going to do that the best way I know how, because I owe that to my teammates regardless of who is out there on the field with me. I have moved on," Brady said according to ESPN.

Hernandez will have a hearing for probable cause on Wednesday. He has been held without bail and is charged in connection to June 17 slaying Lloyd, an acquaintance of his, at an industrial park in close proximity to Hernandez's North Attleborough, M.A. home.

Hernandez, 23, had been teammates with Brady since 2010 until the Patriots released him following his arrest. Bill Belichick, who has not been available to the media since before Hernandez's arrest, is scheduled to meet with the media for the first time on Wednesday.

Following Wednesday, the Patriots will hope to move on from the incident. The sentiment to move on echoed in Brady's words on Tuesday.

"I'm focusing on the great teammates I have who are committed to helping us win games," Brady said according to ESPN. "The only thing I care about is winning. Nothing is going to ever get in the way of that goal. I'm just excited to report to camp and see what we can accomplish as a team. The fate of our season will be determined by the players in our locker room -- nothing else."
