The Cleveland Browns went into the 2015 NFL Draft with twelve picks. They didn’t spend a single one of them on a quarterback.

Many wondered if the Browns would use multiple picks of that dozen to try and pry the number two pick away from Tennessee, in order to draft Marcus Mariota. When they didn’t others thought they could be contenders for UCLA’s Brett Hundley or Baylor’ Bryce Petty. They passed on those two as well.

As a result, the decision of not drafting a quarterback reads like an implicit endorsement of Johnny Manziel. Last year’s first round pick is out of rehab, committed to his teammates, and now has every available opportunity to win the starting job.
