Tonight at 7:10 p.m. ET, the Washington Nationals (7-13) and Atlanta Braves (10-9) clash in the second contest of a three-game series live from Turner Field in Atlanta.

Atlanta looks for its second straight win in as many nights while Washington hopes to snap a six-game skid.

The Braves defeated the Nationals 8-4 Monday night to open this trio of games and begin a 10-game homestand while Washington has dropped all four games to start its 10-match road swing.

A.J. Cole makes his Major League debut for Washington while Atlanta will counter with Julio Teheran on the mound and he is 2-1 with a 4.64 ERA through four starts this season and has added 18 strikeouts.

Cole is replacing Max Scherzer (thumb) in this start and went 0-0 with a 2.40 ERA in three outings for Triple-A Syracuse this season.

Teheran is 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA in four outings against the Nationals at Turner Field while Washington outfielder Bryce Harper has fared well against him in his career, hitting .438 (7-for-16) with two homers and two doubles.

Harper is first in the MLB with 19 walks while he also ranks tied for third in the NL with 25 strikeouts.

Braves left fielder Kelly Johnson ripped his third homer of the season on Monday in the sixth inning and finished with three hits in four at-bats and three RBI to help Atlanta take the opening game of the set.

Braves outfielder Nick Markakis is fifth in the NL with a .436 on-base percentage while closer Jason Grilli is tied for second in the Senior Circuit with seven saves.

Atlanta enters play in second place in the NL East, 4.5 games behind the New York Mets (15-5) while Washington is in last place in the division and eight games back.
