The Dallas Cowboys are hoping that they can make a deep playoff run for the first time in nearly two decades in the upcoming season. If they do, then star wide receiver Dez Bryant will unquestionably be a key part of that run. Over the past few years, Bryant has blossomed into one of the most dominant wide receivers in the entire NFL.

Bryant has also grown up off the field during his time in Dallas, and the Cowboys have to be pleased with that, as they are currently in the process of negotiating a long-term deal with Bryant that could exceed $100 million. In his younger days, Bryant was a bit of a hothead, and many considered him a risk to get into legal trouble.

In fact, earlier this year, reports were all over the place about the existence of a video that showed Bryant committing an act of violence that was allegedly much worse than what Ray Rice did. Given how Rice's career has been ruined by his video, one can only imagine how bad Bryant's alleged tape must be and what the fallout would bring.

Many thought that the video stemmed from an incident at a Wal-Mart, but according to the Dallas Morning News, the NFL has confirmed that no evidence of any such video could be found. Wal-Mart has denied the existence of a video also.

A police report of an episode that only nominally involved Bryant was released weeks ago, but it failed to prove much of anything.

Reports about the video have largely gone away, which raises further questions about the validity of the rumors of its existence. If it did exist, then it seems likely that someone would have found it and released it by now.

You never want to say that someone is in the clear, but for now, it looks like Bryant can continue his career without worry.
