Turns out we all may have jumped the gun on the Russell Wilson/Ciara romance for the ages. According to the Seahawks quarterback’s social media account, he won’t be taking the R&B/hip hop artist to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after all. He be taking a different date: his bubbie.

For those that are just catching up: Wilson is single for the first time in 2015 after finalizing a divorce with his wife and college sweetheart Ashton Meem last year. He’s been linked to a handful of models, but hasn’t settled into another steady relationship yet.
He and Ciara were spotted getting close at a Mariners game on Saturday afternoon last weekend, and then AOL reported earlier this week that she was his plus-one to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

It’s unclear whether that initial information was faulty, or Wilson and Ciara changed their plans after the fact. All we know is good for Wilson’s grandma—she’s going to get an up close and personal glimpse of the president!
