The Dallas Cowboys are chugging along this offseason and trying to make the necessary moves to defend their NFC East title and hopefully make a deeper playoff run in 2015. They have re-signed some key players, and they have been working on new deals for some other contributors.

Obviously the big fish is Dez Bryant, but the team is also dealing with a delicate situation with Orlando Scandrick, who feels like he deserves to be paid more even though he is currently under contract. Scandrick was the team's best corner last year despite being paid less than teammates Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne. Scandrick is currently sitting out workouts, and he is prepared to cost himself money for missed time to prove his point.
"He's under contract, but not unlike a lot of players, they'd like to have more," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. "Orlando is under contract. If something makes sense for us to add some years or do something then we'll take a look at that, but we just re-did Orlando's contract a couple years ago and he's been a really good football player for us. He's a leader on this team, and we certainly need him out here. In my mind, he should be out here right now, working out."
Dallas is reportedly planning to cut Carr's salary, which will help save the team some money, although it may just go straight to Dez Bryant.
The team is still working on a long-term deal with Bryant, and they should not be expecting him to report until he has to join the team. The two sides have had contentious negotiations to this point, but they have until July 15 to get a deal done, so the franchise may just be saving that for last.
It may not be the wisest choice to play with fire like that, particularly if other deals like the one the team gave Greg Hardy influence Bryant, or if Scandrick gets a new deal first, which could make Bryant feel unappreciated.
