Johnny Manziel Replacements: 3 NFL QB's That Would Fare Better In Cleveland [VIDEO]

News came on Friday morning that the Cleveland Browns are about "90%" certain that they're done with Johnny Manziel as a potential starter for the future.

Cleveland Browns Giving Up on Manziel Era Already?

If true, the Browns will immediately begin to think about a proper signal caller to replace him. Manziel was horrendous in his rookie year in 2014, throwing for less than 200 yards and two interceptions in his only two starts. He's been out of the limelight since early February, tackling his drinking problem in rehab.

Cleveland signed journeyman Josh McCown this off-season, presumably as insurance should they truly decide to cut Johnny Football loose. However, McCown may be an upgrade from Manziel, but he's still a barely serviceable, league-average QB on his very best day.

With that in mind, here are three other quarterbacks the Browns may want to pursue in the near future:

1. Sam Bradford
The Browns were originally interested in prying Bradford away from St. Louis, but the former number one overall pick went to Philadelphia instead. Would Chip Kelly be amenable to parting with him for the right offer?

2. Marcus Mariota
We're less than a month away from the first round of the draft, and pundits still have no idea where this Oregon Ducks QB is going to land. Should the Titans pass on Mariota at #2, there will multiple teams that will have the opportunity to trade up for him. Cleveland would be remiss not to explore that possibility given that they have two first rounders to offer.

3. Brett Hundley
Or, if Cleveland were to consider trading up for the reigning Heisman winner too risky of a proposition, they should sit tight at where they already are, at 12 and 19, and draft this UCLA prospect instead. He might not be ready to start right away, but he could learn under McCown for the time being and then take the field for Mike Pettine's squad mid-season or at the start of 2016.
