Houston Rockets star James Harden and hip hop model Amber Rose formally called it quits this week. The couple had been reportedly dating for about two months, but decided to move things to the friend zone instead.

The decision came as a little bit of a shocker, considering how lovingly Rose had spoken of Harden in press events heretofore. She even made the trip to Houston multiple times to sit courtside and root on the All Star in person.

Neither party really specified why this split came about, but was a recent song by Rose’s ex, rapper Wiz Khalifa, partially to blame?

Khalifa released a song for the upcoming Furious 7 soundtrack, entitled “See You Again.” In it Khalifa raps that “Everything I went through you was standing there by my side / And now you gonna be with me for the last ride.” According to the Venture Capital Post, the song may have precipitated a reconciliation between Rose, Khalifa, and their young son, Sebastian.

As for Harden, he has a lot more on his plate right now rather than just nursing a potential broken heart. His Rockets sit at third in the Western Conference with a record of 50-24, and a long playoff push looming on the horizon.
