As you may have heard by now, former Olympian Bruce Jenner is undergoing some shocking changes later this year. The 1976 gold medalist in the decathlon announced a few weeks ago that he would be undergoing a gender transition and taking the necessary steps to transform himself into a woman.

The news has been met with many different reactions, but Jenner seems primarily concerned with how the process will affect him and his family. After a car accident that left one dead last month, rumors emerged that Jenner may delay the process, but he later insisted that he was going to proceed with the gender transition this summer, and he has been undergoing extra therapy sessions to help prepare for the process.

According to People, the whole process may be the latest thing that is worsening a divide between Jenner and his family. Jenner divorced his wife Kris ahead of his announcement, but he was hopeful that he would be able to remain close with all of the members of the Kardashian clan. Unfortunately, that may not be the case.

The family has been very publicly supportive of Jenner, but they may be just putting on a good show. Reports also indicate that Kris has "had the most difficult time of anyone in the family," which is probably a natural reaction when your former spouse tells you that they want to change genders.

Jenner himself alluded to a family divide in the season premier of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, revealing that he felt "so separated" from the family.

"Kardashians over here and the Jenners over here," he said. "Little me in the middle."

Jenner did add that his recent house purchase in Malibu has been good for him, saying, "living by myself out in Malibu has been really good. I kind of have my freedom. ... The tough part comes when, sometimes, it can get pretty lonely not seeing the kids every day. I certainly wish they would be spending more time out at my house."
