Kristin Cavallari refers to husband Jay Cutler as the love of her life, but if she has anything to say about their children’s career paths, the couple’s two sons will not be following in their daddy’s footsteps.

The 31-year-old Cutler is one of the highest paid quarterbacks in football, but Cavallari doesn’t think the gridiron will turn into a family business.

“I don’t know if I have a lot of control over that,” the Laguna Beach reality star said when asked if she could see sons Camden and Jax also playing football, per the Baby Center Blog. “I think it’s difficult when the father of your boys plays football to say that you can’t do that, but we’ll see.

“I’ll try to steer them in more a baseball direction or tennis is great, even golf. They are way too young right now.”

Although she didn’t specify, the alarming trend of football-induced concussions contributing to memory loss, CTE, and other health hazards probably plays a role in her protectiveness.

Or perhaps it’s just that Cavallari doesn’t want to see fans give Camden and Jax the same chilly reception that they often give her husband. Cutler’s Chicago Bears went just 5-11 last season, leading many to speculate that newly-signed head coach John Fox will try and look at other options for the position in 2015.
