The Philadelphia Phillies (37-41) and San Diego Padres (39-39) will meet for a Wednesday night matchup at Petco Park. The first pitch is set for 10:10 p.m. ET and will stream live on MLB.com.

Cole Hamels (2-11) will look to improve on his disappointing start to the season. He currently leads the majors in losses and is matched his career-worst total set during the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

"It does get frustrating at times," he said. "I'm striving to win. When I make a (bad) pitch, it seems to break the game open."

Hamels has been a victim of poor run support, as the Phillies have averaged 3.06 runs while he's on the mound this season. The Phillies offense has specifically struggled during his last five road starts, accounting for three runs of support, while Hamels recorded an 0-4 record.

While the offense has had problems, Hamels blew a 3-0 lead at home during his last start, finishing with a 4-3 loss to the Mets on Friday.

"It's a process. You can't be selfish in this game," Hamels said. "If you want to be a team player, you can't put the selfish side in there. I'm not doing my part because I'm not defending enough runs when I get runs."

Robbie Erlin (1-0) will matchup against the struggling Hamels. He will look to capitalize on his second career MLB start.

Erlin won his first career start on June 1, holding the Blue Jays to just two runs during a 6 2/3 innings 4-3 win. He also allowed two runs in two innings out of the bullpen as a relief pitcher earlier this season.

Erlin was recently called up from Triple-A Tucson to make the start Wednesday.
