The San Francisco Giants (38-38) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (33-42) will meet in a Tuesday night matchup set for 10:10 p.m. ET. The game will air live on KCAL and will stream on MLB.com with a paid subscription.
Despite the season with a poor record, the Dodgers are riding a three-game win streak and have taken five of their last ten. Los Angeles has been playing off the momentum of the call up of Cuban defector and top prospect Yaisel Puig.
Puig hit his seventh home run of the season since being called up 20 games ago during the Dodgers' series opener against the Giants. He connected on an RBI single in the eighth inning that gave Los Angeles the lead before taking the game 3-1. Puig is currently hitting for a .442 aberage and 14 RBIs.
Mike Kickham (0-1) will look to slow down the streaking bat of Puig. The pitcher was recently called-up from Triple-A Fresno for the second time this season after Chad Gaudin was placed on the disabled list.
Kickham had a disappointing MLB debut, allowing four earned runs in 2.1 innings pitched during a losing effort to Oakland. He will look to bounce back during his second career start.
"I kind of know what to expect," Kickham told the team's official website. "Having been there before will benefit me."
Manager Bruce Bochy believes the 24-year-old pitcher showed promise during his first five batters.
"He showed good stuff early," manager Bruce Bochy said after Kickham put out his first five opponents. "I'm sure he was amped up and then he got behind hitters but I liked what he showed. It's his first outing and that's always one to put behind you."
Stephen Fife (1-2) currently holds a 3.25 ERA for his rookie season. He is coming off a no decision effort in which he allowed just one run in six innings against the San Diego Padres.
