The Colorado Rockies (39-38) and the Boston Red Sox (45-33) will face off in a Tuesday night matchup set for 7:10 p.m. ET. The game will air live on NESN and will stream live on MLB.com with a paid subscription.

The series marks the first meeting between the two teams since their 2007 World Series matchup.

Ryan Dempster (4-8) continues to go without run support from his Boston teammates. Dempster has lost three of his last five starts. Dempster has held a 3.48 ERA during this span and is coming off a 6-2 loss in which he allowed three earned runs in six innings.

"I just wish we were winning more of the games that I'm starting," Dempster said after Boston fell to 6-9 in his starts.

In five of his eight losing efforts, Dempster has allowed three or less runs, while the Boston offense has failed to capitalize. The Red Sox have averaged a run-support average of 2.64, excluding the team's 17-5 win over Texas on June 4.

"Seemingly, there's a guy on each staff that might be pitching on the wrong day, and that's probably the case with Ryan on a few occasions," manager John Farrell said. "That's something completely out of his control, but yet at the same time, we're in position to win almost every time he walks to the mound."

The Rockies will start Juan Nicasio (4-3) against Dempster. He is coming off a five-inning performance in which he allowed two earned runs in a losing effort to Toronto on Wednesday. Nicasio is 0-2 in a six-start winless skid with a 5.23 ERA.
