The first day of NFL free agency featured multiple movers and shakers, but one deal stole the headlines.
Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis is coming back to New York, after inking a 5-year deal with the Jets worth nearly $40 million dollars in guaranteed money.
Revis played for Gang Green from 2007-2012, before doing one year stints in Tampa and New England. Revis won a Super Bowl ring with the Patriots last month, but the team was disclined to bring the 30-year-old back at that price tag.
Revis acknowledged the magnitude of the situation on Twitter Tuesday night...
I want to thank the Pats and Pats Nation for an unbelievable year. NEW YORK I'm coming home. #revisisland #jetnation pic.twitter.com/KQE3Yc1orz

The rest of the NFL world had a lot to say about the deal as well.

Revis has maximized his earning potential like no other player in the history of football. It's crazy his uncle (Sean Gilbert) hates the CBA — Ryan Clark (@Realrclark25) March 11, 2015

Because of Revis's play/reputation and the fact that supply and quality is so low and demand is high Revis is able to raise his price! — Prince Amukamara (@PrinceAmukamara) March 11, 2015
The man knows how to work the system. Good for him. “@RossTuckerNFL: Darrelle Revis is my hero” — Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) March 11, 2015
