Aaron Hernandez, the ex-New England Patriots star tight end who stands accused of orchestrating the murder of Odin Lloyd, and pulling the trigger in his shooting death, will be back in court again today at 9:00 a.m. Follow Day 24 of the court proceedings free here.
The prosecution brought the babysitter of Hernandez’s daughter, Jennifer Fortier, to the witness stand where she testified that Hernandez attempted to woo her two nights before Lloyd was killed.
After a night of partying with Lloyd and his barber, Hernandez took Fortier to a secret “flophouse” where he kissed her and she admitted she kissed him back. She also said she was uncomfortable.
"I pushed him away," Fortier said. "I told him, 'I'm your Nanny. I can't do this.' … He understood and said it was OK." Two days later Fortier reportedly babysat for Hernandez and his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins, and was paid $250 for four hours. Typically she was paid $20 an hour.
Fortier’s testimony could hinder Hernandez’s defense greatly if the story of Hernandez trying to make a pass at her could encouarage Jenkins, charged with perjury and already granted immunity if she testifies for the prosecution, to flip on her fiancée.
A Yahoo report deemed this outcome unlikely. It speculates that Jenkins has refused to go against Hernandez after learning about a 2012 double murder, and already having known about this incident involving Fortier.
