The New York Knicks are having an all-around terrible season. They have struggled all year on the court, the team is having difficulty adapting to the Triangle offense, and start forward Carmelo Anthony has endured a lost season because of a knee issue.

On the bright side for Knicks fans, their astronomical loss total is going to give them a real shot at landing the top overall pick in this summer's draft, and at worst, they will probably pick in the top five. That gives them a real chance to add a potential star to the roster.

There are several prospects in the 2015 draft that will be considered potential future All Stars, but the Knicks need to do their homework to draft the right one. Fortunately, they think the Triangle gives them the flexibility to draft the most talented player, rather than needing to pursue a player because he plays a certain position.

According to the New York Post, Knicks coach Derek Fisher thinks that the Knicks could add just about anyone at the top of the draft (which is partially a product of the roster being so bereft of talent) rather than specifically adding a star point guard, which is currently all the rage around the league.

"That's kind of the beauty of the system. You don't have to build around one position or player," Fisher said. "You actually can find ways to just get the best basketball players that are available to you and utilize all those different skill sets to your advantage."

He knows the Knicks have an offensive centerpiece in Anthony, and he mentioned that they need to have other threats around him for the team to succeed.

"We're not looking at our system as if we have to have that prototypical, dominant point guard," Fisher said. "We don't have to have the 'New Era Wilt Chamberlain.' It's really just putting together a team that has the right balance. The best players always help that. We have one, and we'll see what we can do as we go forward."
