Every time an athlete performs well on a big stage, it causes a lot of people to stand up and take notice. Well, Julian Edelman had a great game in the Super Bowl, and he has proven in the days since that he also has a little bit of star power to go along with his talent.

That combination is exactly what people are looking for when they try to take an athlete and make him or her a brand. The person needs to have an air of confidence off the field that allows them to stay in the spotlight.
According to NESN, Edelman has apparently proven that he can fulfill both roles, as evidenced by his newest suitor. Edelman has apparently caught the eye of none other than Jay Z, and Roc Nation Sports is reportedly interested in the Patriots wide receiver.

The two sides had a meeting on Thursday in New York to talk about some of the opportunities that might be out there for Edelman. He claims that he is "super happy" with his current representation and has no interest in switching.
However, Edelman does believe that he might be able to work with Roc Nation on some marketing pursuits. He has already sold some of his own merchandise, including shirts that commemorate the big plays he was involved in, most notably his touchdown pass to Danny Amendola against the Baltimore Ravens.
If Edelman wants to continue to develop his business interests outside of football, then getting involved with Jay Z is probably one of the best ways to go about it.
