Darrelle Revis has enjoyed a resurgent season with the New England Patriots this year. Some questioned whether he could still play like one of the league's best defensive backs after suffering an ACL injury and struggling to play consistently well during his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Revis performed much better this season after being able to play a lot of man coverage in the Patriots' scheme, and he once again looks to be one of the best corners in the league. According to ESPN, the team would like to keep Revis for another season, but his option on his contract for the 2015 campaign is worth $20 million.

The Patriots are not expected to pick up Revis' option, which would make him a free agent after the Super Bowl. If Revis does become a free agent, he will have multiple teams interested in him.

The New York Jets reportedly have interest in bringing Revis back, and former Jets coach Rex Ryan also wants to try and convince him to come to Buffalo. Ryan coached Revis when both were with the Jets, and it was under Ryan that he developed into a dominant cornerback.

Tampering charges were filed against the Jets after some December comments by team owner Woody Johnson. He praised Revis and mentioned that he'd "love for Darrelle to come back" to the team. The NFL is looking into the matter, but it is not known whether the team will face any punishment.
