The Denver Broncos once again fell short of their goal of winning the Super Bowl thanks to a playoff loss against the Indianapolis Colts. The team has several question marks this offseason, but none are bigger than the future of superstar quarterback Peyton Manning.

Manning dealt with a torn quadriceps for the final month of the season, and there was a drastic drop-off in his level of play. Many have since wondered if Manning can still play at an elite level, and the quarterback himself may also be unsure, as he has reportedly been considering retirement.

According to ESPN, Manning may announce his future as soon as this week. The Broncos lost their entire coaching staff after the season, including offensive coordinator Adam Gase, and Manning had concerns about how he would fit in under new coach Gary Kubiak.

However, it appears that Manning has been persuaded that the new offensive scheme will be something he can fit into, and he is reportedly planning to return for the 2015 season.

Manning is reportedly not planning to announce that 2015 will be his final year of playing either. He does not want the fanfare and publicity that surrounded the final seasons of other iconic athletes recently. He also does not want to lock himself into a final season of playing just yet.

Manning's salary is guaranteed in 2015 if he is on Denver's roster on March 9, and it now appears likely that he will be, barring some kind of incident during his annual checkup on his surgically repaired neck.
