Normally, you would only see New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees throwing passes to Odell Beckham Jr. at the Pro Bowl if they were on the same team. However, the pair teamed up to set a world record this week ahead of the Super Bowl.

By now, almost everyone has seen the Visa commercial that features Larry Fitzgerald catching one-handed passes from Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, and Colin Kaepernick while he buys them his jersey. According to ESPN, Brees and Beckham teamed up to set the world record for one-handed catches in a minute at the set of their Super Bowl coverage in Arizona.

The passes were required to travel at least 10 yards. Arizona Interscholastic Association football official Tyler Cerimeli officiated the event, and Guinness World Record adjudicator Alex Angert verified it.

The event was a new category, and the pair needed to complete at least 10 passes for the record to qualify. If they failed on their first attempt, they would have had two additional tries. Those extra tries were unnecessary, however, as Beckham caught every pass that Brees threw him, and the pair completed 33 passes in the one-minute time frame.

"He was throwing them perfect," Beckham said.

"It's unreal," Brees said. "He's a special talent. To be able to do it with him is really cool."

Brees had his own broken-in footballs thrown in for the event, and he placed every pass just above Beckham's shoulder. "We were locked in," Brees said. "The way you do anything is the way you do everything. We were here to set the absolutely highest mark that we could. I think we did.

"Kinda sets the bar out there. I figure everybody and their mom is going to try to break that now. There's going to be some YouTube heroes out there. I don't know how many are going to be legit, though. We got those balls out just about as fast as you could. He caught them all."

They already have one challenger.

Brees and Beckham said that if their record gets broken, they will attempt to retake it.
