Now the Indiana Pacers forward himself is finally opening up about that traumatic event for the first time.

The website Bleacher Report has been shadowing George over the past several months, chronicling his arduous journey from injury, to rehab, to hopefully back where he belongs amongst the NBA's elite. In the first installment of the series, George opens up about his recollection of the injury as it happened.

"I didn't really feel nothing then," George admits. "I just knew I couldn't put my foot down. I couldn't help myself from standing."

It was then that George says he "looked down to look at my legs, and I saw my bone [sticking out]. And the second I saw my bone, I just lost it."
