Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant may be listening to his musical side.

USA Today is reporting that Durant has left agent Rob Pelinka and will go without representation. Durant currently is in the middle of a five-year, $85 million contract with the Thunder that runs through the 2015-16 season and would not require an agent, at least from an NBA standpoint, until then.

The report is coming from an unnamed source familiar with the Durant situation.

Sports Business Journal was the first to report the decision in a tweet.

According to USA Today, if Durant follows through on what he has been telling family members, he will look to become involved with the Roc Nation sports agency, headed by music mogul Jay-Z.

The report said Durant's interest is only in the marketing opportunities that could come from the partnership and that he does not want to sign with Leon Rose of the Creative Artists Agency; Rose works directly with Roc Nation.

Pelinka is the head of Landmark Sports Agency, which represents NBA stars Kobe Bryant and James Hardin. Pelinka issued a statement involving the split with Durant.

"We are honored and blessed to have worked on behalf of Kevin, for a brief period of time," Pelinka said. "He is an amazing person and athlete, and we are proud of our work and service towards advancing his brand in a manner that reflects the mutual qualities we share with Kevin. We wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors."

Durant is a three-time NBA scoring champion who led his team to the NBA Finals during the 2011-12 season. The Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Miami Heat in five games.

The Thunder had the best record in the Western Conference in 2012-13, but point guard Russell Westbrook suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first round of the playoffs against the Houston Rockets, and the Memphis Grizzlies eliminated Durant and OKC in the second round.
