Legendary ESPN College hoops announcer Dick Vitale apparently couldn’t contain himself as his beloved San Antonio Spurs took the upper-hand in the NBA Finals by rallying to knock off the defending champion Miami Heat Thursday night.
“Your ex is awesome baby! Mr. Clutch,” he tweeted to actresses Eva Longoria, the former wife of Spurs star guard Tony Parker. Parker, who nailed the game-winning shot--- and seemingly every other one that most mattered--- and Longoria were divorced in 2010 after three years of marriage riddled by widespread allegations of infidelity on his part.
Though Longoria, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, still professes to be a die-hard Spurs fan many on social media were shocked by Vitale’s apparent insensitivity.
And yet, there was little denying Parker had earned his close up as the night’s biggest star. On the game-winning basket, he outfought MVP LeBron James in a mad scramble for a loose ball and, with the shot clock closing in on zero, somehow managed to regain his footing and bank in the game winner.
The Spurs now lead the best of seven series 1-0 with Game 2 slated for Sunday evening in Miami. Led Parker, the Spurs are seeking the franchise’s third NBA title in just over the last decade.
Think Eva Longoria may be smiling?
