One of the intriguing storylines involving individual players is that of Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis. The latter was considered the best cornerback in the league for several seasons until he suffered a knee injury, and Sherman has been considered the best corner ever since.

The two have exchanged trash talk about which of them is the better player, but it now appears that their one-time rivalry has turned into something else. According to CBS Sports, Sherman actually complimented Revis on his play this season.

"He's had a great year and he's been doing his job effectively. I like what I've seen from his game," said Sherman. "I'm sure people will make comparisons. They always do. But we play the game two different ways."

Sherman does have a point. He primarily plays press coverage as part of a three-deep scheme that Seattle runs, and Sherman stays on the same side of the field, regardless of where the opposing receivers are.

Revis, on the other hand, plays primarily man coverage, and he generally covers the opposing team's most dangerous receiver for the entire game. His success in taking number one receivers out of the game is what originally sparked his nickname, "Revis Island."

"He's plays it more meticulous and more conventional on his technique," said Sherman. "Mine is more unorthodox. It's more difficult to replicate what I do on the football field. So it's two different styles to compare. I play my way and he plays his way and both of them are effective."
