The New England Patriots have been catching a lot of flak from NFL fans and the media in the wake of the scandal that people are calling "Deflategate." The controversy stems from the accusations that the Patriots intentionally deflated their footballs for the AFC championship game.

The NFL subsequently found out that several of the Patriots' footballs had, in fact, been deflated. Now, many are calling for the Patriots to be punished, as if some deflated footballs were the entire reason that the Patriots took the Colts behind the woodshed.

The backlash is not confined only to New England, however. Carolina Panthers kicker Graham Gano has come under fire after accidentally defending the Patriots with some tweets about how the weather can affect pressure in the football.

Twitter users immediately jumped all over Gano about defending New England and their supposed cheating ways, prompting him to post this:


And while it is basic science that cold weather would cause the air pressure in the footballs to drop, people have taken any opportunity to accuse the Patriots of cheating ever since Spygate.
