The Green Bay Packers collapsed in epic fashion against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game. The team held a 19-7 lead with under five minutes remaining and managed to lose the game in overtime after allowing Seattle to successfully complete a number of highly improbable plays.

Peyton Manning Returning, Says DeMarcus Ware

After the game, many wanted to point to Green Bay's failure to recover Seattle's onside kick attempt as the reason for the eventual loss, but there were plenty of other culprits. Mike McCarthy put on one of the worst coaching performances in playoff history, and the team left points on the table on several drives.

According to Pro Football Talk, star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was unhappy with how the team let up in the second half, opening the door for Seattle's unprecedented comeback. "We had some chances early, had some chances late to do some things and didn't do it," Rodgers said. "When you go back and think about it, at times we weren't playing as aggressive as we usually are."

The Packers kicked two field goals from the Seattle one-yard line in the first quarter instead of going for touchdowns, and they insisted on running the ball on each play near the end of the game despite the fact that Seattle had basically every defender in the box. Many questioned the point of having the best quarterback in football if the team does not trust him to salt away the game in situations when Seattle was so obviously selling out to stop the run.

"We've finished off games before in four-minute," Rodgers continued. "We had a chance to do some things; didn't do it. . . .

"You can't let them complete a pass for a touchdown on a fake field goal, you can't give up an onside kick and you can't not get any first downs in the fourth quarter and expect to win. And that's on top of being really poor in the red zone in the first half. Put all of that together, that's how you lose games. This was a great opportunity. We were right on the cusp."
