Now that Steve "Sting" Borden is officially a member of the WWE family, Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross is happy that he's on board, but also hopeful the company doesn't "overexpose" him.

Rusev to Cost John Cena Match At Rumble To Set Up 'Mania Clash?

Sting made his long awaited WWE debut at the Survivor Series in November and helped Team Cena defeat Team Authority after having a stare down with Triple H and hitting him with the Scorpion Death Drop.

Ross spoke to RollingStone.com and said the WWE needs to be careful with "The Vigilante" and keep him out of the ring until WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.

Original AJ Lee Return Plans Nixed

"I think what you have to do with Sting is determine what his final match or event will be, and then book it backwards and build to that destination," Ross told the site. "Sting's got all these year of television exposure, [so] you don't want to overexpose him. You want to make sure you keep him in a positive light with your vignettes, your interactions on TV. And you sure as heck don't want him to wrestle on television before WrestleMania."

There were rumors that Sting would face The Undertaker at the "Show of Shows" for years, but that is now looking doubtful.

Since The Undertaker lost The Streak and was injured against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX, his career has been up in the air and it is uncertain if he'll return to action for this year's show.

The rumors now are that Sting will face Triple H to build off of what was started at the Survivor Series while if The Undertaker comes back, he'll clash with Bray Wyatt on March 29.

Ross is looking forward to seeing Sting make his WWE in-ring debut at WrestleMania in what is likely to be his first match in the WWE, and possibly the last bout of his career.

"I want his first match with WWE to be at WrestleMania, and he's gotta wrestle a top star," Ross said. "For years, everybody wanted Sting to wrestle the Undertaker, and because I'm not aware of the Undertaker's physical condition, and the fact that he lost this past WrestleMania, maybe some of the luster's been removed. Sting probably wants to wrestle one more major match, get that WrestleMania Moment under his belt. It's like a veteran football player finally making a playoff team, and they get to the Super Bowl and then they retire. Bring him in as a reoccurring star that has a personal issue with Triple H, and they settle their personal issue at WrestleMania."

The WWE tried to land Sting for years and came close on many occasions, but the two sides never came to an agreement throughout the years until now while the rumored 'Taker and Sting match became less and less likely.

Lastly, Ross gave his thoughts on the Royal Rumble on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and said he hopes the WWE makes the 30-man match special.

"A lot of things depend on how healthy some of the guys are that are hurt," he said. "I would say you have a chance to have someone emerge from the Rumble that's going to be your next big thing. With that said, my feeling is that Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble. He has a great look. He has the confidence of the promotion, so I think he'd be a great potential winner. How he does it is another issue. Does he come in during the middle of the match and just dominate? Last year, he did that. I don't think it was followed up on like they probably would have liked for it to. If you're going to have [Brock] Lesnar be the champion at WrestleMania, and then the winner of the Royal Rumble meets the champion, then you would have the match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, and there's where you would pass the torch."
