The New York Knicks are enduring the worst season in franchise history, and many players on the team are questioning whether they want to be there. The lastest player to entertain thoughts about his future is power forward Amar'e Stoudemire.

Love Now Planning To Opt In?

Stoudemire is approaching the end of the five-year, $100 million contract he signed when he joined New York, and many are wondering what will be his next NBA stop. He is dealing with injuries yet again this season, and unfortunately, his constant injury issues will probably be his legacy as a Knick.

According to ESPN, Stoudemire could leave as a free agent after the season, or the Knicks may elect to release or trade him before that. "It's a very difficult situation at this point," Stoudemire said. "It's a hard decision for me to make. My loyalty has always been with New York and the Knicks. "

Warriors Glad They Didn't Get Love?

"So it will be tough right now to make a decision as far as going somewhere else at this point," Stoudemire continued. "It's something I have to think about. I'm sure over time I'll sit and think about the best scenario for myself. For now, I know I've been through injuries throughout my career. I have to make sure I'm able to be strong enough and prepared to play for a team contending for a championship. New York is trying to rebuild. Hopefully that will be sooner than later."

For now at least, the Knicks plan to keep Stoudemire for the rest of the season, but sources indicate that the team would at least consider buying out Stoudemire's contract if he decides that he wants to finish the season playing for a contender.

The Knicks are currently 5-35 and have the worst record in the NBA. Check out the clip below to see just how bad things have gotten.
