Over the summer, there was a nearly unprecedented recruiting frenzy over some superstar free agents, most notably one LeBron James. Teams pulled out all the stops to try and lure the world's best player to their squad, although he eventually returned home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

At least one player still remembers trying to recruit James, and he had some words for the Cleveland forward after a recent game. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid sent a couple of tweets King James's way over the summer to hint that he should consider Philadelphia as a destination.

Of course, LeBron eventually chose Cleveland, leading Embiid to admit that he needs to work on his pitch skills.

Still, the 76ers may not have even wanted LeBron this year, as signing the best player in the league does not seem to fit in with their multi-year tanking plan.

Kobe Not Shooting Enough?

On Monday, Philadelphia hosted Cleveland, who was playing without James, Kyrie Irving, and Dion Waiters, and they actually managed to defeat the Cavs 95-92. Afterward, Embiid took to Twitter again to remind King James that he could have been wearing a Philadelphia uniform during the game.

Although the Cavaliers have struggled, I think it is still a safe bet to say that LeBron does not regret not joining Philadelphia. The win moved the 76ers to 5-28 on the season, and they are likely headed for the worst record in the league yet again.
