The Philadelphia Eagles faltered down the stretch of the regular season and missed the playoffs despite finishing the regular season 10-6, and changes could be on the horizon for the team. Some key players are set to become free agents, and the team may also elect to move on from some of its veterans.

One of the veterans that may be released is star running back LeSean McCoy. According to NJ.com, the running back acknowledged that he may have played his last game for the team when they defeated the New York Giants 34-26 on Sunday. He did not sound enthused about the possibility, saying, "We'll see. I can't control it."

McCoy's contract next season is set to pay him nearly $10 million, and his cap hit for the team will be $11.95 million. The running back has undeniable talent, although he did struggle sometimes during the 2014 season. The team likely still believes that he can play, but the entire league is increasingly moving away from high-priced running backs.

"You think about it," McCoy said about his future. "I would be lying if I said I never thought about it. I don't know. I really don't know."

McCoy also could not help but notice the similarities between his current predicament and that of wide receiver DeSean Jackson last offseason. The team eventually cut Jackson.

"It happened to (wide receiver DeSean Jackson) off of his best year," said McCoy. "But he went somewhere and got paid. So there are some negatives, but it's a lot of positives too."
