Every year, the end of the NFL season brings a slew of fired coaches and general managers after teams underperform, and many of those firings happen the day after the season ends, on a day known as "Black Monday." This year has been no different, as four teams have already moved on from their head coach.

First, the San Francisco 49ers moved on from Jim Harbaugh.

Then Rex Ryan lost his job.

Neither of these moves came as a huge shock, as rumors of discord between Harbaugh and the 49ers had persisted all season, and many were surprised that Ryan did not lose his job after last season

Atlanta's Mike Smith lost his job this morning as well.

And then Chicago brought the total to four when they fired Marc Trestman.

Mike Smith was likely undone by the Falcons inability to win one of the worst divisions in NFL history, particularly on a squad with so much talent on offense. His history of clock mismanagement surely did not help his case.
Trestman looked like a great hire last year as the Chicago offense was one of the best in the league. However, this season, they regressed drastically, and quarterback Jay Cutler led the league in turnovers, which is never a good thing for a coach that is an alleged quarterback guru.
These firings are likely not the last that will occur this offseason, although one candidate to be fired received a stay of execution when the New York Giants earlier announced that Tom Coughlin will keep his job in 2015.
