The University of Michigan is still awaiting Jim Harbaugh's decision after the program extended him an offer of six years and $48 million to be their head football coach. However, like any sensible organization, the Wolverines are continuing to cultivate back-up options in the event that their favorite son Harbaugh says 'thanks, but no thanks.'

UM Just Made Jim Harbaugh a Mammoth Contract Offer

Les Miles and Dan Mullen were other early candidates, but they look ready to stay at LSU and Mississippi State, respectively. Jim Mora is unlikely to leave Southern California after building up UCLA, and Duke's David Cutcliffe either turned Michigan down or was never contacted at all.

Speculation next turned toward Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone, but he, too, has dismissed those rumors.

"I have nothing to do with that job," Marrone told reporters on Sunday following Buffalo's 26-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders. "You're stuck with me, fortunately or unfortunately."

'Michigan Man' Concept Won't Influence Coaching Search

If that's true, then the Wolverines have to be privately praying that Harbaugh ultimately takes them up on that big offer. Because it is becoming increasingly difficult to see what their Plan B can or will be in the event they lose his services to another NFL team.
