There have been rumors circulating for years that avid WWE fan "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey would leave the octagon for the squared circle somewhere down the line and the reigning UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion recently discussed the possibility of joining the WWE.

Rousey spoke with TalkSport.com to promote the recent film The Expendables 3 and she commented on a possible run with the WWE sometime down the line and wanting to portray a villain.

"Oh I would be a heel for sure," she told the website. "I can't take the name of 'Rowdy' and not be a heel, that would be an insult to the man I pay tribute to with my name - the great 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. I would have to try and live up to his legacy as much as possible and I can't do that being a babyface."

Piper, who is a wrestling legend and had a lengthy in-ring career, is a WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Rousey, 27, is 10-0 in the MMA realm with two knockouts and eight submission victories and became the first-ever Women's Bantamweight Champion

Rousey has been linked to the WWE a lot through the years and has had good relationships with some of the company's Superstars, but a rumored appearance for her at SummerSlam was nixed and it's unknown if she will ever jump ship.

Outside of the octagon, Rousey has done some modeling and acting, recently playing "Luna" in the summer blockbuster film The Expendables 3.

It remains to be seen if she'll ever join the WWE, but she at least remains open to it.
