The Chicago Bears are not mathematically eliminated from the postseason, but really need a miracle to qualify for the playoffs with their current 5-8 record.
Is Terrell Owens their miracle worker?
NFL executives prefer Derek Carr to Colin Kaepernick?
The 40-year-old wide receiver and six-time Pro Bowler, which Fox Sports reported last was seen on an NFL roster in 2012 with the Seattle Seahawks, appeared on TMZ's "TMZ Hollywood Sports" and said he is working out for another opportunity in the NFL.
A TMZ reporter talked about the season-ending injury to the New York Giants' Victor Cruz and to the collapsed lung the Bears' Brandon Marshall suffered in the Thursday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys that cost him the rest of the regular season.

"I know where you're going with this," Owens said. "Yes I am available. I stay ready so I don't have to get ready."
When asked whether he felt he was better than the majority of wide receivers currently playing in the NFL, he said, "There is no doubt about it. I'm just being serious. You never can rule out the chance of anything happening."
Owens has played for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals during his 15-year NFL career. His last appearance in a regular-season game came with the Bengals in 2010. That season, he had a respectable 72 receptions for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.
While opportunities with the Giants and Bears don't make much sense - the Giants are out of the playoff picture and the Bears are mathematically alive but currently 12th in the NFC playoff picture, Owens is hoping a playoff-contending team with a need for a wide receiver reaches out.
But that team likely would have to put up with a circus of media in the event of signing the mercurial Owens, which could be a deterrent to teams not wanting to disrupt their chemistry during a playoff push.
