Jay Harris has lost his scholarship to Michigan State after posting an explicit rap video to YouTube, and will now trade in the football for a microphone as he is set to pursue a career in the music business.

Before you click play on the video directly below, be forewarned: It contains explicit lyrics and some adult themes.

Graduating from high school as a wide receiver, Harris was ranked number 17 overall in Pennsylvania on ESPN's RecruitingNation, eventually leading Michigan State to follow and recruit the player to play for the Spartans in his freshman year.

Philly.com reported that Harris was giving up his Michigan State scholarship to become a rapper, and quoted Jay saying, "I've always had this in the back of my head, but never had the courage to tell my parents that this is what I want to do."

The website changed its story a little saying that the scholarship was stripped from Harris, and he did not give it up.

Under the name "Jay DatBull" the Downingtown East senior has uploaded nine videos to Youtube. Using explicit lyrics, Harris raps about drugs, sex, women and homosexuals.

His first single, "DatBull 4 Life," surpassed 50,000 views over the weekend, a video that shows Harris smoking marijuana while sitting in the driving seat of a car.

An album is ready for a June 1 release, and Harris said he plans to work with professional producer M. Stacks this summer.

M. Stacks has worked with popular rappers Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller.

"I try to take advantage of every opportunity I get, and for him to like my music and reach out to me, I really appreciated that," Harris said.
