The scandal that has erupted in the wake of Brennan Clay's tweets from Sunday got a new storyline on Monday when Clay filed for divorce.

The former running back took to Twitter on Sunday, alleging that his wife, Gina D'Agostini, cheated on him with Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray.

Clay stated that he discovered the affair when he found an old cell phone belonging to his wife was filled with over 50 "inappropriate" text messages between she and Murray. The cell phone also contained photos that Clay believes the two sent each other.

Clay told TMZ on Monday that he was filing for divorce from D'Agostini in the wake of the affair, even admitting on Sunday that he was "disgusted" and "done." The two had only been married for four months.

Clay and Murray were teammates at the University of Oklahoma, as Clay joined the team during 2010, which was Murray's last year prior to leaving the NFL.

Clay stated that Murray had mentored him during their time together and that Murray was "the person who I looked up to the most as a running back and as a friend."

A representative for Murray says that the RB has no comment and adds that "DeMarco is focused on the Bears" for the Cowboys matchup on Dec. 4.
