Injured WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan made a surprise appearance on Monday Night RAW this week and ran things for the night, but that shouldn't be the only time the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion runs the show.

Bryan has been sidelined since mid-May due to undergoing surgery on his neck and may need a second procedure after he lost feeling in his arm after the initial operation. It is unknown when Bryan will be ready to return to in-ring action as a clear timetable hasn't been set.

The WWE is in need of someone new to control its programming now that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are out of power on-screen following Team Authority's loss to Team Cena at Survivor Series this past Sunday night in St. Louis.

With the void being left in leadership, Bryan would be a perfect choice as a full-time on-screen authority figure.

Here are three reasons why Bryan should be the new general manager of RAW and SmackDown:

1) Babyface in charge is refreshing: Since The Authority first formed in 2013, they have dominated the storylines as a heel faction. After over a year of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon belittling the babyface roster and running things there way, a fresh voice in Bryan would really blend in nicely. Bryan is a fan-favorite and would turn the programs around by making it so that the authority figures aren't heel oriented and the babyfaces get their revenge for once, which is how wrestling used to work. After months of heels having control, it would be a change of pace to have a face in charge of things.

2) Bryan can't wrestle due to injury: Since Bryan is injured and can't wrestle, the WWE is basically paying him for the appearances he sporadically makes for them. The WWE might as well utilize him more and Bryan -- who has said how much he misses being in the ring -- can at least travel with his wife Brie Bella and have some fun in front of the WWE Universe night in and night out. With his timetable for a return being unknown, this is virtually the only way to get him on television regularly and it could be a lot of fun.

1) Bryan won't get lost in the shuffle: Since Bryan's departure, there have been some new emerging faces in the main event picture including Bray Wyatt, and former Shield members Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Adding that to a crop of Superstars that already includes No. 1 babyface John Cena and veterans Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kane and The Big Show, Bryan could get lost with so much time away from the ring. Now, it is doubtful Bryan will ever be forgotten by the WWE Universe entirely, however if he appears on television weekly it keeps him fresh on everyone's minds and gives him a chance to interact with the Superstars that appear night in and night out. A good way for Bryan not to get lost in the shuffle, is to have him appear weekly on RAW and SmackDown to speak for the WWE Universe.

While Bryan's injury is unfortunate, the WWE has an easy way to keep him active on its shows if it chooses to make him the regular general manager.
