Following Steve "Sting" Borden making his WWE debut at Survivor Series, it seems that the company is building to a match against Triple H at WrestleMania 31, however the door isn't completely closed on the former WCW and TNA icon taking on The Undertaker at the Show of Shows. Sting will be 56 years old by the time WrestleMania rolls around.

Backstage Update On AJ Lee's Status Following Quick Loss To Nikki Bella At Survivor Series

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that as of Friday, WWE officials were still planning on a big Sting vs. The Undertaker match at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. While that was the plan, it is also possible that the WWE may have changed gears to have Sting take on Triple H.

It was reported over the weekend that the WWE originally had a regular unveiling planned for Sting and then decided to thrust him into the main event, where he hit Triple H with the Scorpion Death Drop and threw Dolph Ziggler on top of Seth Rollins to win the match for Team Cena over Team Authority at Survivor Series.

Roman Reigns Blasts John Cena, Update On His Injury Return

With the loss for Team Authority, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon lost their power, which seems to set up a potential WrestleMania 31 match with Sting.

There is no word on whether or not the WWE has opted to have Sting battle Triple H at the Show of Shows or if they're sticking with The Undertaker vs. Sting plan.

It is possible Sting wrestles Triple H before WrestleMania, but it's more likely that the WWE would save Sting's first match for the biggest show of the year.

There was talk that Sting would wrestle his first match with the WWE -- in what would likely be the last bout of his career -- at WrestleMania 31, but now there is talk of having Sting wrestle multiple contests on special occasions.

This run with the WWE will probably be the last of Sting's career and there are plans for it to conclude with a Hall of Fame induction. There have been rumors Sting may be in the Class of 2015, but it remains to be seen.

The WWE has wanted to put on Sting vs. The Undertaker for several years, but has failed to land the former WCW and TNA Heavyweight Champion in year's past.

Now that Sting has signed on to be a part of the WWE family, the company is closer than ever to having the match, though it depends on if The Undertaker is ready to come back.

'Taker lost to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX, ending The Streak, and he also was injured during the contest, leaving his status for this year's event up in the air.

Sting said he'd love to face The Undertaker even if he doesn't have The Streak anymore, but he also listed Triple H as another possibility.

With his introduction to the WWE Universe at Survivor Series, it seems to be a lock that Sting will wrestle a match at WrestleMania 31, but it remains to be seen who will be standing across the ring from him on March 29.
