Just like LBJ lost Cronkite on the Vietnam War, Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith has lost the Clermont Lounge.

Like every other Falcons fan in the city, the social media coordinator of Atlanta's most famous gentlemen's club was not pleased with Smith's decision-making in the fourth quarter of the Falcons' heartbreaking 26-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

The origin of their ire is no doubt related to Smith's clock mismanagement. With less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter, and the Falcons in range for a game-winning field goal, Smith called timeout rather than let the clock continue to tick. Immediately following the ill-advised timeout, the Falcons dialed up an even more ill-advised passing play on third down.

It fell incomplete, stopping the clock yet again.

The Falcons connected on their field goal to take the lead, but had left far too much unnecessary time left in the game. Cleveland summarily responded to Atlanta's go-ahead field goal with a quick drive, and a game winning kick of their own.

Smith has a history of making baffling timeout and game clock-related decisions. So you have to have some empathy for what the Clermont Lounge is going through. Luckily, the Falcons play in the NFC South, easily the least competitive division in football. Even though they're sporting a ghastly 4-7 record, Atlanta is still only a half game behind the equally putrid 4-6 Saints.
